Independence Day?

Independence day???

India celeberates 60th Independece Day .... Yes the count will keep on adding every year... i remember the big celebrations for our golden jubliee when I was in school... now what does independence day mean ....

  • Its big banner and Hoardings where AIRTEL and HUTCH keeps all over the city

  • Ethinic, Traditional Celebrations all over the offices where people try to show their patriotism?

  • Flag hoisting and Sweets distribution on Schools

  • Ulaga tholai kaatchikigalil muthal muraiyaga..... on the idiot box at home....

Oru naal kodiya kuthitu ... flag salute panrathuku peru celebrating independece day'aa????

When I ask this question to my friends they reply back saying.... half the crowd dont even do that.... so atleast it makes a difference....

I am not saying... go completely desi.... wear khadi dress... say "Maa tujhe salam" every day… ....but atleast few things which we can do....also adds to showing respect to the mother country.

  • Try to visit the near by school or nagar where flag hoisting is done every independece day once atleast.

  • If possible Encourage Soldiers and Other troops by visiting their March Past (Did I spell that right?)Try to learn about India freedom Struggle rather than giggling and saying... i dont know ... who cared for history.. i studied only for marks....

  • And last but not the least..... BE PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN... especially when you visit.. other coutries.... maintain your self esteem and dignity... be proud... to say that you are from INDIA in all the airport entries.
