I dont know how many of you have actually tried this in your retail supermarket, so I thought of posting it here. When you buy certain things, you tend to pick the first packet on the display, but next time when you go to purchase something (especially food items) try to pick the last packet/ bottom most on the display and compare it with the first pack put on display ... you will find the last packet at the end is the recent and fresh item compared to the first/ top most pack. The showroom girls usually try to arrange the fresh goods recieved at the back so that the older ones get sold first.
This technique applies to vegetables, fish market as well.
